Differentiation in Action
July 1, 2014
This year I will be teaching a 5th grade math group and a 5/6 combo group during my math block. Working out of two text books is always a challenge. Good thing I don't use them that often! This is my first year doing away with a whole group lesson. EEEEK! But, I'm excited to have a full 30 minutes to work with small groups instead of the quick 15 minutes I had in the past. I hope using this method will keep kids on task, engaged, and allow them to pick up concepts quicker and more deeply. While I'm working with one group, my other group will be completing math tasks. These will include independent work, math games, fluency practice, review activities, problem solving, and logic activities. As I create the different activities, I will post them on here and TPT. Check back often for new materials!
